Stonefish’s journey began in 2000: Dan and Alex met in high school and co-founded a SCUBA diving club. After graduation, Dan became a professional pilot and developer, while Alex pursued careers as an engineer and surgeon. Nearly two decades later, they founded Stonefish. What started as a small venture has grown into a respected firm known for its vision, attention to detail, and commitment to success.

Meet the
Principals
DAN HUMPHREY
Dan has been active in real estate since 2006. developing tens of millions of dollars worth of multi-use, commercial, ground-up, residential, and agricultural projects. He has managed projects from concept to completion, including site preparation, wetland mitigation, conservation, permitting, and overseeing construction. His ventures also include speculative investments, and property flips. With over 20 years in aviation, Dan has served as a check airman, director of training, corporate pilot, and airline pilot. He brings a unique approach to management and investment, in addition to real world success he also holds a BA in Business Administration (Economics)
Alex Slocum, MD, PhD
As a founding member of Stonefish, Dr. Slocum brings unique expertise to real estate. He’s an accomplished Mechanical Engineer, Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon, and successful entrepreneur with several patented (and FDA-cleared) medical devices. Known for his bedside manner and surgical skill, Dr. Slocum applies the same meticulous approach to each of Stonefish’s initiatives. Outside of work, he enjoys woodworking, powerlifting, SCUBA diving, and spending time with his wife and three children.
